Cancellation Fees

We acknowledge that there may be situations when you need to cancel your ride with Cab My Ride or the services we operate. Note that in some cases, you may be charged a cancellation fee.


Cancellation fee - Cab My Ride & on-demand transport 

App & Phone Bookings 

  1. If you cancel your ride more than 2 minutes after your driver has accepted.
  2. If the driver has arrived at your pickup location within Southampton. Up to 5 minutes later than scheduled 
    1. For journeys outside of Southampton if your driver has arrived - there is no time restraint. Therefore if your driver is more than 5 minutes late you maybe charged a cancellation fee.

A minimum fee of £5 up to the maximum value the journey can be charged, depending on how long your trip has been active. 

If your driver has crossed a toll or congestion, this will be added to your cancellation fee.


Website Bookings

  1. The total fare will be charged if the booking is cancelled within 24 hours of the pickup time for the journey
  2. 50% of the fare will be charged if the booking is cancelled within 48 hours of the pickup time for the journey.

Account bookings

A minimum fee of £5 up to the maximum value the journey can be charged, depending on how long your trip has been active. 

If your driver has crossed a toll or congestion, this will be added to your cancellation fee.

How to check your cancellation fee

If you are charged a cancellation fee

  1. App - You will receive a notification in the app when the ride has been cancelled. You will have the option before you cancel your journey to contact the driver or accept the cancellation fee.
  2. Phone Bookings - You will receive an SMS letting you know your journey has been cancelled with the cancellation fee included.
  3. You will receive an invoice to the email address specified on your account with the cancellation fee amount you here charged. 

You will not be charged a cancellation fee

  1. If you cancel your cab within two minutes of your driver accepting the ride
  2. If your driver is more than 5 minutes late for pickup

Cash trips cannot be charged a cancellation fee however, your account may be deactivated after multiple cancellations.
