The Trust has trusted Cab My Ride to support the movement of:

This service will operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including weekends, Bank Holidays, overnight periods, Christmas, and New Year.
This contract is not “standard taxi work.”

Drivers must:
Be polite, patient, and respectful
Maintain a clean and presentable vehicle
Dress appropriately
Communicate professionally with patients and NHS staff
Follow all instructions from Operations
Treat vulnerable passengers with dignity and care
Drivers must never:
Use inappropriate language
Discuss patients or NHS matters publicly
Argue with staff or passengers
Smoke or vape in the vehicle
Play loud music
Refuse reasonable assistance
Many passengers may be:
Vulnerable adults
Elderly
Distressed
Unwell
Children or young people
All drivers involved in NHS work must:
Complete safeguarding training
Follow safeguarding procedures
Report concerns immediately
Maintain confidentiality
Safeguarding concerns can be reported directly through the Partner App or Operations Team.
Any safeguarding issue is treated seriously and escalated immediately.
Patient and road safety are non-negotiable.
Drivers:
Cannot work more than 12 hours in a 24-hour period
Cannot drive more than 3 continuous hours without a mandatory 45-minute break
Cab My Ride’s Partner App monitors:
Driving duration
Speed compliance
Driving behaviour
Fatigue indicators
If safety thresholds are breached:
Drivers may be temporarily paused from receiving jobs
Mandatory breaks may be enforced
Repeated issues may result in removal from NHS work
Vehicles used for NHS work must always be:
Clean
Safe
Roadworthy
Presentable
Drivers are required to:
Complete vehicle checks
Upload vehicle images where required
Attend regular spot inspections
Maintain compliance documentation
Any reported vehicle issue may result in immediate suspension until inspection is completed.
Some NHS bookings are urgent or clinically important.
Drivers must:
Prioritise NHS jobs appropriately
Arrive on time
Communicate delays immediately
Follow dispatch instructions carefully
Failure to complete urgent journeys correctly can impact patient care and NHS operations.
Communication is one of the biggest reasons transport contracts fail.
Drivers are expected to:
Keep status updates accurate
Respond promptly to Operations
Report issues early
Escalate problems immediately
Follow dispatch instructions professionally
If there is a problem, we need to know before the customer tells us.
