Aryvo is committed to fostering a safe, healthy, and productive work environment for all employees, including both office staff and drivers. Given the safety-critical nature of our industry, especially in transport, the misuse of drugs and alcohol presents significant risks. These substances impair judgement, coordination, and decision-making, putting the safety of individuals and others at risk. Operating a vehicle under the influence is illegal, and this policy is designed to address these concerns while maintaining a zero-tolerance approach toward drugs and alcohol.
This policy applies to all Aryvo employees, including office staff, drivers, managers, and directors.
The misuse of drugs and alcohol, whether occasional or chronic, can endanger personal and public safety. Even consumption the night before work may impair an employee's ability to perform their duties safely, whether in an office or behind the wheel of a vehicle. Aggression or violence resulting from substance use will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
It is the responsibility of all employees to familiarise themselves with and adhere to this policy. Aryvo is committed to open communication and providing a supportive environment to address issues of drug and alcohol misuse. All employees must perform their tasks in a way that prioritises the safety of themselves and others.
Zero-Tolerance for Substance Use:
Consumption of drugs or alcohol, whether during or before work, is strictly prohibited for all employees, particularly drivers.
Drivers and office employees must report to work fit for duty, unimpaired by alcohol or drugs.
Immediate Removal from Duty:
Any employee found to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol during working hours, including break times, will be immediately removed from duty and may face disciplinary action.
Strict Adherence to Transport Industry Regulations:
The high-risk nature of the transport industry requires strict compliance with safety standards. Drivers are particularly expected to adhere to the legal requirements and company policy regarding substance use. Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, including after consuming a single unit of alcohol, is strictly prohibited.
No Drugs or Alcohol:
Employees, especially drivers, are prohibited from working under the influence of any drugs (including prescription medication that impairs performance) or alcohol.
Any driver or office employee showing signs of impairment from alcohol or drugs, including residual effects from consumption the night before, will not be allowed to work.
Consequences for Non-Compliance:
Violations of this policy, such as driving under the influence, are treated as gross misconduct and may result in summary dismissal.
If there is suspicion of impairment, management may request law enforcement to conduct testing.
Random Testing:
The company reserves the right to conduct random drug and alcohol testing, particularly for drivers. Such testing may occur at the discretion of the Managing Director or designated managers to ensure compliance with this policy and to uphold public safety.
Aryvo recognizes that substance abuse can sometimes be a health issue, and we are committed to supporting employees who seek help. Employees who voluntarily seek assistance for drug or alcohol dependence will receive appropriate support, including:
Accommodation for reasonable time off to attend rehabilitation or cessation programs.
Confidential handling of all requests for assistance, in line with data protection regulations.
We encourage employees to take advantage of these resources before any issues affect their performance or safety at work.
